Mini-Sumo Robots

Maximum weight: 500 g. Any shape that fits within a 10 cm x 10 cm box (11.2 cm x 11.2 cm for Lego), any height.

  3. Autonomous Lego - Limited Class: 11.2 cm x 11.2 cm, standard Lego parts only, no structural glue or tape, limited to one RCX, two motors, two touch sensors, one light sensor maximum.

Small-Sumo Robot Competition

Maximum weight: 1 kg. Any shape that fits within a 15 cm x 15 cm box, any height. Otherwise follows Mini-Sumo rules
  1. Remote Controlled (wire tether or radio control - 27 & 75 MHz only)
  2. Autonomous
  3. Autonomous Lego - Unlimited class: standard Lego parts only, no structural glue or tape, unlimited number of Lego RCX computers, motors and sensors

Sumo Robots: 3 Kg Japanese Limited Class

International Competition! Take on the world with your 3 Kg, 20 x 20 cm robot (unlimited height). Compete in North America, Europe, or Sumo-Robotics birthplace, Japan!

Build a Fusion powered car! Your solar powered car has to race down a 1 meter long track ahead of the competition.

BEAM Robotics: Photovore

Within a 150mm (6") cube, build a device that is self contained, solar powered, and goal seeking. The robot competitor will have to face off against other devices in a well-lit competition area, having to avoid obstacles and race to the middle. Once there, have your robot dominate the light pool until the end of the 5 minute round.

Looking for Contestants: BattleBots! (tm)

Heavy Metal Destruction!!! Build a wheeled (or heavier, non-wheeled) robot to smash the competition. We are looking for competitiors, and an arena sponsor.
  • Class A: Super Heavyweight 211-325.9 lbs (316-488.9 lbs).
  • Class B: Heavyweight 116-210.9 lbs (174-315.9 lbs).
  • Class C: Middleweight 59-115.9 lbs (88-173.9 lbs).
  • Class D: Lightweight 25-58.9 lbs (25-87.9 lbs).
