Registration starts at 9:30 AM, Competitions begin at 11:00 AM.

Mini-Sumo Robots

Maximum weight: 500 g. Any shape that fits within a 10 cm x 10 cm box (11.2 cm x 11.2 cm for Lego), any height.
See http://www.nwrst.com/ for rules.
  1. Advanced Autonomous - For the serious competitor
  2. Novice Autonomous - For beginners and first time competitors
  3. Autonomous Lego - Limited Class: 11.2 cm x 11.2 cm, standard Lego parts only, no structural glue or tape, limited to one RCX, two motors, two touch sensors, one light sensor maximum.

Basic Line Following

Any shape that fits within 8.5" x 11". How fast can your robot follow the line?
See here for more details.

Advanced Line Following

This will be a more free-form course, which may include right angle corners, obtuse corners, gaps in the line, or line crossings. The line wil be made up of 3/4" wide black electrical tape on a white background.

Scoring will be calculated as follows:
100 points x percentage of course completed.
3000 points divided by time taken to complete a stage.
-50 points per intervention required to return the robot back on course.
100 point bonus for successful uninterrupted completion of the course.

BEAM Robotics: Solar Roller

Build a Fusion powered car! Your solar powered car has to race down a 1 meter long track ahead of the competition.
See the WCRG Rules for complete information.

BEAM Robotics: Photovore

Within a 150mm (6") cube, build a device that is self contained, solar powered, and goal seeking. The robot competitor will have to face off against other devices in a well-lit competition area, having to avoid obstacles and race to the middle. Once there, have your robot dominate the light pool until the end of the 5 minute round.
See the WCRG Rules for complete information.

Walker Triathalon

Walkers can go places that wheeled robots can't. How far will your go?
See here for more details.
